Koenraad de Smedt
If your email does not reach me, perhaps it has been stopped by the mail server's spam filters. Some mail servers and domains are blacklisted. Avoid typical spam items in your subject line or message text, e.g. "You have won!", "Business proposal" etc.
Do not send me unencrypted confidential information that can be abused by criminals if intercepted. Encrypt your confidential message with my public key. Encryption is simple and without cost.
Write your message in the simplest format possible. Usually plain text is sufficient, in some cases HTML may be necessary. Do not make your font much smaller or larger than the default or I may have trouble reading it.
Send attachments if necessary, but try to avoid attachments in Word or any proprietary format unless there is a compelling reason to do so. Use plain text, valid HTML, or a public-domain, well-documented format instead.
If your message is directed to one of my projects, please use the appropriate email adress for the project. If your message is directed to me personally, please use desmedt before the @ and uib.no after the @.
Not all mail that has my address as the sender is really sent by me. Spammers who want to hide their own address sometimes abuse my address. Only mail that bears my digital signature (compatible with my key) is reasonably certain to have been sent by me.
