BSMV - Proposed Excursion, Saturday May 3
A boat is chartered for Saturday afternoon to take us to
Fjærland. Here we will be transferred by bus to the
Glacier Museum and to the foot of `Jostedalsbreen', the
largest glacier in Norway.
(The museum has been designed by a famous
Norwegian architect, Sverre Fehn.)
Fjærland is situated innermost in one of the most scenic arms
of the Sognefjord, about 1 1/2 hours by boat from Balestrand. It is
a very small village which could - until very recently - only be
reached by boat.
