Research interests

I am a PhD student of professor Stein Kaartvedt, visiting from Red Sea Research Center, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia. A part of my thesis work is to study the dynamic process of habitat choice and the life history strategy for mesopelagic fish in the Red Sea. I will also study behavioural responses of mesopelagic fishes to the lunar illumination regimes around the world, especially in the Red Sea and off the Canary Islands. I cooperate with Rune Rosland and Jarl Giske at TEG in using stochastic dynamic programming techniques along with observational data such as acoustics, trawling, otolith microstructure and stomach content data.
